Certification

On achieving the 80% pass mark in the end of course test, delegates will be issued with a numbered SAPIRA Training certificate.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, delegates will :

  • Understand what preventative management steps and controls should be implemented when handling flammable liquids
  • Understand the control measures required to deal with those risks and hazards
  • Understand the hazards associated with accidental releases
  • Understand what their initial response to an incident should be
  • Understand the contents and practical application required in the development and refinement of your on- site spill kit resource
  • Understand the principles of Dynamic Risk Assessment and Command & Control of Unplanned incidents
  • Understand what PPE is required for handling likely spills of the liquids involved

Materials & PPE/RPE

Delegates will be provided with worksheets but should bring their own writing materials and issued PPE/RPE.

Advice can be given by Sapira during or prior to the course on the appropriate PPE and RPE, if required, for the elements covered in the course content. Please let us know prior to the course if you require this help as the course does include elements of donning, doffing and selection of appropriate response equipment relevant to the hazards and fuels involved.
