Course Description
Few mail rooms have sophisticated scanning equipment, yet our experiences demonstrate that incoming post and packages can cause significant business interruption. Hazardous packages do not have to be explosive, biological or radiological to cause distress and disruption. What is a growing problem however, is the number of malicious deliveries to organisations of fake packages, packages containing human excrement or similar. This course helps you to develop both appropriate filtration techniques to identify hazardous or suspicious mail and an appropriate response.
The Sapira MRT1 Mail Room Training Course has been conceived from our work with some of the largest high profile organisations in the UK who regularly receive hazardous mail from pressure groups and terrorist organisations. Sapira's trainers all have experience in counter terrorism or an appropriate discipline gained from their previous careers as senior officers in the UK Emergency Services or similar. Run in a practical workshop like style the course aims to help the delegates develop appropriate, preventative screening processes, which don't need high capital expenditure in equipment. Many organisations that we train do not have a dedicated mail room but still need admin staff to know what to look for and, most importantly, what to do should they suspect that a package recently delivered to their desk is potentially hazardous or suspicious.
