Sapira 2P - Spill Response Professional (6 Hours)

Chemicals (Hazards), Invocation, First Response, Implementing ICE, Risk Assessment, PPE & Spill Kits, Practical Exercise

Course Description

Made up of two distinct parts and covering spills of both hydrocarbons and hazardous chemicals, Spill Response Professional combines a classroom element (morning) with a practical scenario (afternoon) designed to reinforce the lessons learned in theory. The main emphasis of this course is pre planning, preparation and due diligence. Delegates will understand the response team's role within the incident plans, the development of a risk reduction culture and how flow charted response plans can be integrated within the correct command structure. Delegates will also cover the basics of using their existing spill response inventory and be given advice, if required, on any gaps that exist. As a part of the section on PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) delegates will be expected to demonstrate competence in its deployment and use. Course notes/workbooks are provided. For certification there is a short 20 question multiple choice test. All delegates receive the Sapira Spill Responder Guide free as a part of the course.
